ROBERT PALMER wurde leider nur 54 Jahre alt. Er starb 2003 an einem Herzinfarkt. ROBERT PALMER wurde bekannt durch seinen Kleidungsstil - er trug meist einen gutsitzenden Anzug - und seine markante Stimme, doch viel bemerkenswerter war seine Musik. Sie war ein Mix aus Elektrik und verschiedenen Musikstilen, wie Soul, Jazz, Rock, Pop, Reggae und Blues. Sein Song JOHNNY & MARY wurde 1980 veröffentlich. Es gehört zu den Liedern, das immer wieder im Radio gespielt wird. Vermutlich wissen die meisten Zuhörer des regionalen Radiosenders nicht worum es in dem Songtext geht, doch der Song gefällt ihnen schon seit Jahrzehnten.

Schon sehr interessant, dass es so ein Video gab damals. Zugegeben das es bestimmt mehrere gab, aber das drang bis heute nicht durch zu mir. Okay... er hört sich nicht an wie ROBIN THICKE aber es sieht aus, wie ein Video das ROBIN THICKE in 10 Jahren drehen würde.
